  • Is football the best sport in the world because anyone can become great?

And it's not based on size?

NFL - big **** house mother ****ers
NBA - Have to be 6'3 at least unless there is an odd exception (Robinson)
Rugby - Big guys, even the short guys are build big

Then Football (Soccer) - Best player in the world Lionel Messi is 5'7 and weighs about 140 lbs

Best football club side - Barcelona, average player is about 5'8-5'10 (defender and goal keepers anomalies).

Sure you can get big teams like Stoke and Chelsea who impose their size on you as their game plan but it doesn't always work as they are finding out right now.

You do realise that Leo Messi was given growth hormones at an early age.......

Of course I do, but so what? He's 5'7, barely 5'7 and he had some kind of dwarfism.

Speaking of height, I thought Khan was 5'10 and Mayweather was 5'7???

Is Mayweather wearing lifts or is Khan only 5'8-5'9?

But then if the sport is for 'anyone' as you put it...then there would have been no need for him to take the growth hormones...

i think rugby union has more diversity in sizes.

fat ****ers can play front row.
            giants play 2nd row
            short asses play scrum half
"normal" sized people play back row or in the back line depending on how strong/fast they are.

Footballers only differ in height, they are all roughly the same build

I think Khan is leaning down a little, but I do think Khan is more of a 5'8 1/2 - 5'9

He would have been about 4 foot tall, that's pretty ****ing small. If he can have treatment, why not get it? Even if he never got it and wound up being 4 foot I still think he would have been great and hard as **** to tackle.

That's true, a lot of those guys are fat as hell.

But I still argue that Barcelona's band of midgets are pretty abnormally small for a top sports star.

Hell even Tennis players are like 6'2 180-200 lbs big athletic guys.
