[PLEASE HELP] Why is there so much bigotry against Muslims?

I wonder why there is so much hatred and bigotry against Muslims.

It's evident with some of the posters here in the lounge, as well as in many other forums in various websites.

Why do some people who find it unacceptable to be racist or bigoted against other groups, find this to be okay?

I've known a lot of Muslims here in North Vancouver, and I've generally found nothing wrong with them. Most of them are decent, honest, intelligent people.

They just follow what they hear and don't do any research themselves.

The Americans have killed somewhere between 100,000 and 1,000,000 Muslim civilians in Iraq and Afghanistan.
