  • People saying Broner lost because he didn't take boxing seriously

Anyone else disagree with this excuse?

Broner said it himself that people THINK he is not training or doesn't work hard in the gym, but the truth is that, he works his ass off. He was in some military camp for months putting in a full training camp and he was even quoted saying that he's one of the hardest workers in the game.

He knew exactly what was at stake for this fight. The win over Maidana would launch his stardom so he trained his ass off. Watch all of this training videos. He took this seriously. I don't buy the bull**** that he didn't take the fight or boxing seriously. He got his ass beat plain and simple, and a hypejob was exposed.

It's nothing to do with training. He didn't get tired. It's just that he doesn't have great skills - simple as that! You can be the fittest guy in the world but if you don't have skills it won't help you. Broner does have skill but his defence sucks - no head or foot movement whatsoever.

I don't believe this is true and neither should anyone else. He's been quoted many times in interviews that he trains really hard and people only see his partying.

With THAT being said, it just comes down to him just not being that good.

He trains hard no one doubts that, he just don't take hard fights and was untested.

Yes he might have been in physical shape for the fight but he was not mentally prepared. What was his game plan coming in? THe blue print for beating Maidana was not a secret. Was his corner even prepared? Where were the in fight adjustments? He got hit by that looping left hook all night. He might have been physically ready but it was clearl his "I got this" mentality cost him.

That fight was about what Maidana did to Broner not what Broner didn't do.

Dude straight up said on camera that he didn't take Paulette seriously, thus the reason for the close fight. He then went on to say that this was the most important fight of his life and that if he didn't win it in spectacular fashion that he may never get the shot at boxing superstardom again. People in his own camp said that he had never trained harder for a fight until this one.

He just got his ass whooped. No excuses, end of story.

I think its a mixture of both. He claimed he did party a lot and most people said he partied too much instead of being in the gym perfecting his skills. Him getting drunk and what not on twitter and eating all that junk food. Floyd Mayweather even told Broner that he had to improve his footwork and mobility after his fight with Paulie but did we see any of that this fight?

to take the sort of punishment he took you'd be an idiot to think he wasn't in incredible shape

Broner wasn't a Guy who was focused on his art and doing everything he could to make himself better.

He lived the lifestyle of a guy who had conquered the sport, not a guy who had just started up the ladder.

He certainly doesn't have the hunger he needs.
