Zab Judah unless you count Cory Spinks as "stepping up."

Cotto did beat mosley and he was the underdog to martinez, you can put an asterisk to martinez but cant deny he was the underdog...

Adrien Broner. His two biggest fights, Maidana and Porter, he lost both of them. Now he's going up against Mikey and will probably lose that one too.

Zab and Cotto are obviously choices as well.

Cotto's 3 best wins are Mosley, Margarito and Martinez

Your right, yes Martinez wasn't himself. Though no one told him to sign the contract and fight if he wasn't at his best.

Cotto's losses, lost a very competitive fight against Mayweather, a trainerless catchweight fight against Pacquiao, questionable fight against Margacheato, which he avenged in the rematch. Lost to Trout and to Canelo.

I agree with you, given the circumstances and situations, not bad at all.

            Mosley - old
            Martinez - shot
            Margarito 2 - shot

            Losses

Pacquiao - beat the **** out of him
Floyd - easily outboxed even though floyd was sleepwalking
Marg 1 - beat the **** out of him without wraps
            Trout - schooled him
            Alvarez - schooled him

                  Mosley was old for Cotto.....

But not for Margacheato when Mosley beat the **** out of him without his plaster. Or when Mayweather fought Mosley or when Pacquiao fought Mosley, etc...

But he was old when Cotto fought him back in 2007, okay.

Martinez was not himself, again no one told him to fight if he wasn't 100 percent. I'm not going to give Cotto praise for this one. So we can somewhat agree on this one. Just mentioning it as one of his 3 biggest wins as far as names. Okay, an * asterisk can be put there.

Margacheato 2 is what you would have saw in Margacheato 1 if fought on an even playing field.

Pac fight was at a catchweight. Yeah he beat him badly. I know though under better circumstances with a trainer and no catchweight Cotto can perform way better than he did. Not saying he would have won, but Cotto would have performed way better than what he showed that night.

Trout beat him, bad match up. I give you that one. Not sure of over confidence, but yeah Trout beat him.

Floyd did not have an easy time with Cotto. Don't know what fight you were watching. That was one of Floyd's best fights to watch because Cotto forced the action and made Floyd have to fight. Floyd won, but it wasn't easy.

Canelo beat Cotto 8 rounds to 4 or so.

Cotto was too small, 35 years old. Not a surprise there. Typical Young Lion vs. Old Lion match up passing of the torch kind of fight.

But all in all I wouldn't say Cotto lost all his step up fights. Yeah, he lost most of them but not all of them.

                    Ricky Hatton beat Kostya Tsyzu

I agree he lost most of his big fights but not every single one, he did beat Kostya Tsyzu.

The guys that would qualify for this as far as losing every single time they stepped up are guys like Andre Berto and Adrien Broner.
