  • Pacquiao at Featherweight vs Pacquiao at Welterweight

Which achievements of Pacquiao will always be greater for you?

Pacquiao beating the legendary Mexicans: Barrera, Morales, Marquez at Featherweight division, or Pac moving up and destroying De La Hoya, Hatton, Cotto, Margarito at Welterweight division?

The former. Barrera was his best career win.

The latter was given much credit majorly because he was the smaller dude on those fights. But they ain’t greater than those 3 mexicans.

    Highly debatable though

Except Pac never beat Morales and JMM at featherweight.
Pac's greatest achievement is pretty much the whole thing.
      Not in any division.
But, he did beat Morales, MAB and JMM at 130.

Take it as featherweight / super featherweight.
Same with Hatton who was "light" welterweight. You get it.

Pacquiao in his pre-welterweight years was better.

Barrera, Morales, and Marquez wins carried much weight and value.

They were the "4 kings" of the 2000s

Pacquiao has wins against all three.
Morales has a trilogy with Barrera and Pacquiao. He has a win over a prime Pacquiao.
Marquez never fought Morales. But has a win over Barrera.
Barrera beat Morales twice. But lost to Pacquiao and Marquez

            *one-handed Pacquiao.

Pac only learned how to use his right, when he lost that first fight to Morales, and Roach wanted Pac to be more than just a left-handed puncher. And that's when that right-hook of Pac became known.

*one handed Pacquiao enough to win against Barrera and a draw against Marquez

It was the Morales loss that really turned Pacquiao into a well-rounded complete fighter. One of the reasons why Morales is my favorite Mexican boxer. Morales gave Manny a boxing lesson he'll never forget.

I think that was the last hurrah of prime morales as well. Everything went downhill from there. I don’t understand why some fans consider him past it during the first one.

Question is, did pac also take something away from Morales during the first fight? It was hell of a fight imo.
Dude was in his late 20s that time and was never the same after. You can argue that he’s drained in the III one, but his fights against Diaz and raheem said a lot.

Jr light is feather to me.
Super divisions invented by WBC b.c they thought JR divisions sounded weaker .
Light welter would be super lightweight .

Pac really did not accomplish much at featherweight.
                  Two wins a draw.

Didn't accomplish much at super feather. One loss and one close win against JMM. Beating EM twice was good . Outside of those, meh.

Morales beat Pac at 130 . That was Pac's FIRST fight at 130. 2 fights removed from 126. Pac moved to 130 on 8 weeks' notice after JMM dropped out of a rematch.
People keep saying EM boxed the hell out of Pac.
The reality was, he outmuscled Pac . Pac did not have much power at 130 yet . And was not used to getting hit by a big jr light yet .
2 fights later, Morales couldn't hurt him.
