  • There's no minimum weight in professional boxing!

With there being alot of talk about weight with the Floyd Canelo issue, there seems to be a common misconception out there.

You do not have to put on any weight when you go up to a higher weight division if you don't want to. In professional boxing you only have to weigh in UNDER the weight limit.

So in a 154 lb fight you can weigh in at 154 or any weight under 154lbs, you can weigh 90lbs if you want.

People saying Floyd loses speed at 154 don't seem to u deer stand this point, if that was the case he would just weigh in at 147 or whatever he wanted.

Floyd fans don't know **** about boxing. When Manny was below 147 VS Marg, Floyd fans were crying why is he under. SMH.

No, it was the time Floyd made JMM go up from 135 to 147.

If the extra pounds is a disadvantage why not.

And yes it's perfectly fair. Canelo being bigger is the whole point of the fight. If they were the same size he'd have no chance and it would be a pointless fight.

Was it fair when Haye fought Wlad ? Or should Wlad have got down to 215?

HW division has always been like that so there is not even any use to bring it up. Still, even experts and trainers of the HW's like Manny Steward have said that boxing needs to add another division called Super HW's because the size advantage is too big.

As for your original topic,, I dont hear hardly anyone talking about Floyd's speed or whatever. Its just about the weight. He's not going to get over 151 pounds. Thats the problem

Exactly, these morons complain about Canelo weighing 5 pounds more than you look at the heavyweight and see legends like Haye facing people 50 pounds bigger. Just shows why heavyweight should always be the most respected weight division, the rest are *******.
