"Technical guys" are only top p4p because they cherry pick slow opponents. When's the last time you've seen two techical boxers actually face each other? It never happens because they'd look like crap against fellow technicians.

Much like after Barcelona's dominance in football since 2009, will everyone try and copy Floyd and his defence? You could argue that Broner is already one of the many to follow.
Yes, they'll have chromium alloy legs, leaden feet and "Steel Hammers" in their "Iron Fists". The Klitschko brothers have already shown them the way.

Their minds won't change, they'll still consist of sawdust with a little heavy timber to keep their ears apart.. And as an extra modern touch, their ears will be streamlined to look like bat-wings, even occasionally flapping....

I can just see them now........

Being serious for a moment, a technically gifted fighter can't display much virtuosity unless he has an opponent whose style will help him display it.

            Not at all,

but there will be fighters emulating Floyd's style or persona, it's already happening.

Berto probably thought that a philly shell and shoulder roll would make him better and cooler. And he got beaten (by Guerrero) while trying to emulate Mayweather.

Broner instead is "recilying" the "Money May" persona, and already managed to annoy half of the boxing fans in the world. He also uses a philly shell, but not in the way Floyd does.

It's always been so, SRL did the Ali-shuffle a few times, Holmes tried to "dance" like Ali , failing.

Mike Tyson used to help his opponents up like his idol Dempsey and had the same haircut. Ali himself emulated SRR at the beginning of his carreer.
