If Andre Ward comes back and beats Usyk, is he greater than Mayweather all-time?

Is this just hypothetical talk or is Ward really considering coming back?

      Ward took the short route.

No spotlight, kept his mouth shut, got in, made his money, and got out.

Floyd built something greater overall, but with what Ward had to work with - he "robbed the bank" BIGTIME similar to what Floyd did but to a much smaller scale.

Just rumors at this point. Egis Klimas, Usyk's manager, has mentioned Ward's name as a potential opponent if Ward were to come back.

Exactly this ^. As a single win against a prime undisputed champion with a very significant size disparity this would eclipse any single win on Floyds resume. How you think that weighs against Floyds greater overall body of work is of course a matter for debate and opinion.

It'd make it an interesting conversation, I can say that much.

Would've been great to see if he could've figured out Stevenson, too.

The two years away from the ring basically confirmed to me that Ward basically physically maxed out as a smallish light heavyweight who probably could've still made 168lbs for a bit longer.

To clean out 168, clean out 175, and knock off the kingpin at 200lbs, nevermind the boost from the actual fights, is a heck of a run. You add the Olympic gold medal, and the fact that he hasn't been beat since he was 12/13 would've been special.

Floyd, though, had basically had a 20-year run where he was seen as a top fighter for 19 of those years, and has been the #1 fighter for over a decade.

It'll take a hell of a lot more than that.

Floyd's win over Coralles is better than Ward's whole career......

Floyd has the best resume since SRL.

so no... Ward could never get close to it. and Ward haters will say Dawson was drained. you can make an excuse for literally any opponent.

but Floyd is too far ahead of Ward.
