  • Best Amateur Team at a Major Tournament since 2000?

Seems to be 3 or 4 real stand out teams.

Cuba at the world championships in Belfast in 2001, with Rigo, Bartlemei, Kindelan, Luna, Aragon, Austin, and Solis all winning gold. Their team at the 2004 Olympics which also included Gamboa was exceptional as well.

Aside from the Cubans though, it seems to be all about the old Soviet sphere. The Russians themselves, Ukraine, and Kazakhstan have produced the three next best teams from what I can see.

Russia - 2007 World Championships at Chicago

    Vodopyanov - BW - Gold
Selimov - FW - Gold (beating Loma)
Gennady Kovalev - LWW - Silver
    Korobov - MW - Gold
    Beterbiev - LHW - Silver
    Chakhiyev - HW - Silver
    Timurziev - SHW - Bronze

Ukraine - 2011 World Championships at Baku

    Lomachenko - LW - Gold
    Berinchyk - LWW - Silver
    Shelestyuk - WW - Gold
    Khytrov - MW - Gold
    Usyk - HW - Gold

Kazakhstan - 2013 World Championships at Almaty

    Zhakpyov - LFLY - Gold
    Yeraliyev - BW - Bronze
    Abdrakhmanov - LW - Bronze
    Akshalov - LWW - Gold
    Yelussinov - WW - Gold
    Alimkhanauly - MW - Gold
    Niyazymbetov - LHW - Silver
    Dychko - SHW - Gold

Any other teams worthy of mention alongside these ones?

Pretty impressive alright. One of the few teams you could argue are close to the Eastern Euros/Central Asians.

UK teams are well funded which helps a lot. I imagine their setup is infinitely superior to that of the Americans.

I see the Kazakhs cleaned up at the Asian games as well. Six gold medals and ten medals in total.
