  • Change in Tyson's body post-prison

Tyson was always a beast and muscular but there was a noticeable change in Tyson's body composition post-prison.

He came out not only heavier and more muscular but at a lower body-fat % he was bigger but also more cut.

    Tyson '89:

    Tyson '95:

Was there ever discussion as to what this change reflected or was it a pro or con in any way?

    - -The discussion has always been he was a fighter in decline after signing with King and marrying Givens and even more so post Prison.

What grade were you in then?

Cus obviously put him on a powerful HGH program since he was a young teen. The body he had later on in the 90s was the result of more sophisticated PED's.

Controversial statements I know but combat sports fans are gonna have to deal with this reality eventually.

He lost a lot of weight in prison, he needed to bulk up.

            - -I ask what grade some of you are in because any sentient adult with a modicum of knowledge knows American prisons are rife with steroids and bodybuilding equipment.

And they know fighters, esp heavies gain weight with maturity...DUH!!!

We had a 2 bit punk posting here claiming I used Viagra because I was older than him!

His generation is steeped in so much PED use that's all they see. Somehow the dummie landed on the Ring roster of writers, and one of his earliest masterpieces was the Angula/Kirkland dramatic dustup.

            To wit: Hagler/Hearns on steroids!!!

That pretty much sums half on this forum. The notion that old school Cus pumped him up when he was no different than any other fast maturing kid in history is laughable but for the current feeble mental state of the average boxing fan.

Shame that, but you can't fix stupid.

I feel downright remonstrated. I am a 19th grader, sir. I am very sorry to have upset you, by Sneezy. Heck, I even thought they removed muscle elephant equipment from the prisons a while back. Maybe that was only in selected states. But I've heard say those boys will even curtsy to build their gluts if necessary. Let them curtsy all day, then. Prisons will be safer and more homey.

I have a question, how does roids help someone who doesn't lift weights? If you are saying Mike Tyson used steroids?

Those who curtsy a lot develop powerful thighs, sir, suspiciously reminiscent of Tyson.

                    - -A legit question sadly left unaddressed by the untutored boxing media.

Steroids were long administered to the elderly to increase mass and strength of the atrophy of aging. They expanded that model for patients coming out of serious Surgery.

Weight training is just a tool used to maximize any gains.

As such, steroids seen as old school and being replaced by HGH and EPO that are less detectable.
