I told them they would miss those corny quasi-liberal "Bible Thumper" republicans when the secular nationalist right emerged.

Awww you want Bushy back. Too bad. We are going to smash the left globally.

Pence is a right wing nut only a level or two above Hannity in terms of reprehensibility.

However anything is better than the low life liar we now have as our President.

He is your President and both of you will pay your taxes on time and kiss his shoe.

In fact, I will even force you to write celebratory raps in his honor.

The “left” can’t be “smashed”. We are a mixed society both politically and economically. It’s what we are, have been and always will be. We are a fine mixture of both capitalism and socialism. Trying to negate one or the other is a foolhardy endeavor which can never occur as it would mean the total destruction of our society. One way we give all power to the ultra rich which means millions would be thrown into abstract poverty. We would look like India. The other way we would destroy our market system obliterating our economy. Thus the fine mixture of both systems which is what we and all modern economic systems are today.

Right vs left is not the same thing as capitalism vs communism. Like you said all modern economies are mixed models. Moot point. The most extreme iterations of right and left become collectivist systems out of necessity (ie WW2). Free markets are a luxury of isolation and equilibrium and always short-lived.

The modern right prioritizes the preservation of endangered civilized nations with low fertility rates and believes the personal freedoms and social stability they've worked for over generations cannot be sacrificed to accommodate globalization.

The modern left enthusiastically embraces dissolving of those nations into the greater third-world, sets up organizations and initiatives to accelerate it believing that it will culminate in a uniform, beige corporate global society of heavily regulated egalitarianism. This is why they become cuckolds and hang calenders featuring photos of cubicles, in their cubicles.

Across the board these are the motives their policies & rhetoric reflect. The freedom for some groups to ascend (price: natural global inequality) VS forced global mediocrity (cost: universal stagnation & ugliness).

                    What is "abstract poverty"?
