  • Robinson had the more extensive boxing skill set also the one punch KO power in either fist Ali lacked. SRR is looked upon as a classic boxer by many but he was also a killer.

What made Ali, Ali was his great chin, durability and will to win. (Along with his second to none speed and skill sets).

They both have among the best resumes in boxing history, with Robinson holding wins over Lamotta, Fullmer, Basilio, and Gavilan, while Ali holds wins over Frazier, Foreman, Liston and Patterson.

Who do you think is the best ever?
Ali is the greatest HW, there is no real comparison - resume is far superior to Joe Louis' resume as well.

Robinson p4p is the greatest. He goes farther back than Ali so less people know about him, but if you study his resume he did some incredible things. Went on a 95-0 streak, jumped multiple REAL weight classes - oh and fought number 1 contenders 4 or 5 times on numerous occasions. You can't best a resume like that. He fought the young up and comers and the savvy old timers - beat them all. He even looked good at 41 and this guy was shopworn to the max. Only someone who really knows boxing can study SRR and understand the ring craft he had - like a seasoned carpenter.

A good runner up though is Ezzard Charles - scope his resume...top Quality.

2 more are Roberto Duran and Ray Leonard - both had some very very high caliber wins. Ray stopping prime Hearns and Duran beating prime SRL after jumping weight.

      • Robinson really, as it was Ali who on so many occasions, confessed to copying him, and as his main inspiration to dare to be great.

In the long run, Ali's best traits is what likely hurt his health in the end.

Maidana is a little awkward but not to the extent of a Fullmer or Turpin. Hes also a welterweight, while the other two could have been modern middleweights
