That is a bit of a joke lads. What are the WBC playing at? Wilder would likely blitz Whyte, but why are they so against giving him his shot? According to Eddie Hearn, they may be making the Whyte-Rivas fight for the Interim title.

Whyte never fought a final eliminator. We've discussed this. A whole lot of times. Excessively even.

I have been called a Hearn hater many times before. But facts are facts. The WBC done similar with Adonis Stevenson not fighting a mandatory for about 5 years.

I bet thats not even the record is the crazy thing.

And like Mammoth brings up Whyte coulda done had his title shot & maybe be a title holder today if he'd had fought 1 of the 2(?) mando fights he turned down.

Can't fully blame the WBC here when Whyte didn't play ball.

The WBC are a joke. They clearly protect and favour certain fighters or people the fighters work with.

As pointed out, Adonis Stevenson never had a mandatory for years. Things are always being fiddled so Wilder never gets a tough mandatory too, such as slotting Stiverne in as mandatory despite not fighting for 2 years and going life and death with Rossy in his only fight between the first Wilder fight. Ridiculous.

They are crooks. More concerned with making bogus belts named after gemstones than running a credible sanctioning body.

Look at what they did with Lomachenko. I’m a big Loma fan but how can they slot him in as mandatory out of the blue when he wasn’t even in their rankings, just because they want him as their champ. It’s a kick in the teeth for other fighters paying sanctioning fees and fighting their way up the rankings.

              Here we go:

              https://wbcboxing.com/wbceng/Rules/W...anuary2014.pdf

3.7 Designation of Mandatory Challengers. The WBC shall always have the discretion to
              designate a mandatory challenger by:
              (a) ordering a final elimination bout of two qualified contenders; or
              (b) designating a Qualified Challenger as the official mandatory challenger.
For the avoidance of doubt, the highest rated (or the highest rated available) boxer in the WBC rankings is never, solely by virtue of such position, the official mandatory challenger.

He never fought a final eliminator and whatever metrics they use to define a qualified challenger he hasn't met either.

Welp there goes Eddie's lawsuit or w/e nutty sh^t he's talking about.

Randomly hasn't the WBC already said the Rivas fight will get the winner into mando position so isn't Whyte finally all setup now anyway?

He wins & he'll get his shot by May 2020 I'd think (Wilder fought a mando May 2019). Rivas wins & he'll get a shot.
