Also, fight would be on FS1? Kind of disgraceful HBO and Showtime weren't interested in an actual quality fight. Especially considering they're heavily invested in the light heavyweight division.

Thing is, Barrera never knew what he would be getting paid because there was no way in hell of him knowing what the winning bid would be. So Michel can't say that Barrera never intended to fight Beterbiev for that reason. Barrera talked about fighting Beterbiev way before anything a bid was discusssed.

There's free negotiations before purse bids are called where the split could be whatever the promoters decide between them. Micheal refused to negotiate a betters split, and went straight to purse bid knowing Barrera would never take the fight for a 25% split.
