80% is a bit much, but not surprising that a lot of gays chose the priesthood.

Growing up gay in the 40's 50's 60's etc... was absolutely a no no. So whats the best way to throw people off your scent while hoping to get redemption in a heavy Christian era? Join the priesthood where you are forbidden to Mary and get to quote unquote serve God.

Problem is those urges don't go away, and mostly young boys became the victims as a result.
