In bible you went into slavery because you owed a debt or your nation was conquered. If you struck your slave and seriously harmed or mistreated him then then they were free to go,
When a man strikes his male or female slave with a rod so hard that the slave dies under his hand, he shall be punished. If, however, the slave survives for a day or two, he is not to be punished, since the slave is his own property. (Exodus 21:20-21 NAB)
You would think that Jesus and the New Testament would have a different view of slavery, but slavery is still approved of in the New Testament, as the following passages show.
Slaves, obey your earthly masters with deep respect and fear. Serve them sincerely as you would serve Christ. (Ephesians 6:5 NLT)
Christians who are slaves should give their masters full respect so that the name of God and his teaching will not be shamed. If your master is a Christian, that is no excuse for being disrespectful. You should work all the harder because you are helping another believer by your efforts. Teach these truths, Timothy, and encourage everyone to obey them. (1 Timothy 6:1-2 NLT)
In the following parable, Jesus clearly approves of beating slaves even if they didn’t know they were doing anything wrong.
The servant will be severely punished, for though he knew his duty, he refused to do it. “But people who are not aware that they are doing wrong will be punished only lightly. Much is required from those to whom much is given, and much more is required from those to whom much more is given.” (Luke 12:47-48 NLT)

“Anyone who strikes a person with a fatal blow is to be put to death. 13 However, if it is not done intentionally, but God lets it happen, they are to flee to a place I will designate."
“An owner who hits a male or female slave in the eye and destroys it must let the slave go free to compensate for the eye. 27 And an owner who knocks out the tooth of a male or female slave must let the slave go free to compensate for the tooth.

Again you are comparing ancient slavery to modern day. And you are also comparing the slave laws and regulation of Hebrews and Hebrew slaves. Two different things, back then if you owed a debt and didn't want to go to prison you can offer yourself into slavery. It was also a system that was common place in every single nation. Jesus and most of the bible then prescribed rules and behaviors for slavery because it was quite obvious for that time the system wasn't going to change.
Today if you owe a big debt you can possibly go to jail, and in jail you are still required to work, except in their case you'd have to be in servitude to whom you owed the debt to.Last edited by JimRaynor; 02-11-2019, 02:31 PM.

Regarding Jesus' skin color....obviously he was not blond or a red head or blue eyed or looked like Jim Morrison of the Doors. Western Europeans painted him as such to be more comfortable with his image. He was of Jewish Semitic ethnicity....if you had to bet, you'd bet he was dark skinned, brown eyes and black hair.
If you want a religion that crapped on Africans, try Islam. Arabs bought and sold black Africans for hundreds of years before Christ and afterwards for centuries once they became Muslims. And African-Americans convert to Islam and take on names of the historical Arab slave masters SMH.

Killer Mike and 'SJW movement' are polar opposites.
But I see it, to people like you, anytime a black person tries to better their own communities, they are 'race hustlers'.
