Im swinging towards a full bullet proof glass. Just the big, main windows and entry door will be bulletproof but all others I will just use film. Mix them up like that.

If you install the film over regular glass it will stop something from coming through, but probably won't stop the glass from breaking. Like a car windshield with laminated glass, the film will hold all the pieces together but I'll still break. That's why we applied it to tempered glass, tempered glass is significantly stronger when hit on the face. The edges are very fragile though, a tap with a hammer will shatter the whole thing. If the edges are hidden it'll take a beating.
