He was brought through fine. He just isn't that good.

Maidana was considered a step up but it was also considered an easy fight to most.

Well, we will soon find out when he fights Matthysse, who he has repeatedly called out. It will either confirm or invalidate any lingering suspicions about him.

Yes. There were so many missed opportunities for him to take on tough fights and get better.

Uchiyama, Salgado and Mendez at 130

Abril, Burns, Vazquez, Beltran at 135

        The once stacked 140 division

If he was brought up properly he could have been lineal champ in 2 weight divisions and going on his 3rd instead of a 3 division paper titlist who is trying to get his career back on track.

not everyone has the potential to be an elite fighter. he clearly doesn't have it. some people seem mad that he didn't cherry pick hard enough to keep his hype train rolling? lol

Compare that to someone like Garcia who took a lot of learning fights against past it veterans like Morales and Judah.
yep! he was that was a bad career move im afraid if he doesnt tighten up he defense he will lose again and soon

nope. he was much more of a force at 130 and 135. he's not nearly "the problem" at 147 that he used to be.

Nope. Either you got it at the highest level or you don't. Dude had plenty of test the water fights and you can even include his last one. He's already the boxer he's always going to be. He's a decent fighter but I wouldn't expect world domination.

he's not a great fighter by any stretch.

that said, if he could still make 135 and 130, he'd look very potent. his chin is very good, and at 130, 135 he could punch, and had a very effective guard.

And hold on; let's not forget the PDL fight. Broner lost that one

I think Broner's best weight is 135-140 pounds. Below 135 he got smacked around by Quintero and Ponce De Leon, and above 140 he got smacked around by Malignaggi and Maidana.

Broner just isn't a very good fighter. He could be a solid contender at 135-140 pounds though.
