It's a capital crime, the process is supposed to be lengthy. So that we don't execute innocent people wrongly convicted (we still do). Of course it's frustration that someone like Roof who's guilt is evident gets the long delay but it is necessary imo.

It's supposed to be justice, not vengeance. I am pro-death penalty though, some crimes deserve you to pay with your life.

He's probably ad-seg, very unlikely to happen. Sounds like someone was getting moved, after they cleared the area for Roof to shower and saw the kid. Cause if he wasn't in ad-seg guaranteed he'd be Dahmer'd he killed women and a pastor in a church.

the legal system isn't perfect, but everybody is given the right to a trial, etc, and you're entitled to a certain amount of time for your lawyers to prep your case. they have to prepare arguments, select a jury, schedule a court to hear the case, etc. it takes a while, even when done efficiently.

once convicted you go through a very lengthy process of appeals. these are in place to keep people who aren't guilty from being wrongfully killed.
