News from So Cal fighter Chad Washburn who fought at The FightZone Returns
Toledo Sports Arena on Friday, December 13, 2002:
I talked to Chad Washburn today. We were pulling for him in his fight, but not every decision can go the way we want. His opponent, Travis Wright, seemed to have played the “lay and pray” game. Chad, who was using sweeps and submission attempts to get control of the match, was disappointed with the result. The fight went the full time limit and the judges were forced to make a decision, Wright, the hometown fighter got the nod. However, a disappointed yet hopeful Washburn said that the FightZone coordinators did talk to him about coming back to Ohio to fight for the 135-pound title.
