So really there already are socialistic programs in our country.
I paid so much into a system and got nothing out,....... youth is wasted on the young..... I’ve paid big money, even now, from Tokyo , I am still paying US tax....it svcks to be me....

You can immediately tell someone’s grasp on reality when they push socialism.

Socialism can't exist without Capitalism so they'll never be a sucessful country that is full Socialist. The dream of a Socialist society where everything is rainbows and sunshine is an adult fantasy equivilant to believing in the ToothFairy and Santa Claus

I can't think of many Capitalist societies because sooner or rather so jackass politician starts making promises on how he'll be able to provide everything for free.

        Socialism is a Cancer.

Idk if socialism in general is the future, but eventually the concept of a universal basic income will become a necessity as the vast majority of work becomes automated and it becomes impossible and needless to employ most people.

As of now I see some socialist practices as being good with an underlying capitalist structure.

Finland just tried that. I believe for 2 years.

It failed so badly they rescinded the policy.

You appear to be confusing socialism with communism.

As it goes, you’re right that it’s not simple. Non-Marxist Democratic Socialism (I.e. socialism that works within the framework of capitalism) works extremely well in Scandinavia, for example. Not so good if your stocks & share portfolio is the most important thing in your life, but far better for education, health and quality of life.

We should allow California to perform this experiment. Let's get the conservatives out, build the wall around them and live happily ever after

                    No, he isnt.

They are pretty much the same thing, once in power.

The difference between them is how they advocate achieving power. Socialists believe in the ballot box, while communists believe in the gun.

Key emphasis on where I said eventually, instead of now.

The reality is that at some point in time (a while out, I imagine), the vast majority of things humans are currently doing themselves will be automated. In that situation, a ubi will be necessary to offset the fact that there simply won't be any way to meaningfully employ the majority of people.
