Dad / Daddy question

Here in the US, is it really a joke if children call their father Daddy?

This is not the case in the Philippines so I'm not aware of this joke

For adults, "daddy" is a sexual term. If I call my friend "daddy" as a joke it's like calling him my dominant boyfriend. So, you being a man and calling another man that is awkward.

Some guys jokingly say to girls, "Call me daddy." Meaning, he's the guy that gives her sex.

I feel really weird explaining that.
