So has JC, so has Sven Ottke, so has bradley etc etc etc. Doesnt mean you fought anyone good, or that you took risks. Saying he beat everyone put in front of him is nonsense. Every great fighter needs a loss, everyone considered a great fighter has had a loss or two, otherwise you wont be great.
The only alternative to that rule is if you did everything you humanly could do possible todo all you could do and we know Floyd hasnt. Took long breaks, when he could have spent that time improving his resume, and taking losses as well if thats what God wanted.
We need to see how you come back from a defeat, and if you are able to, and come back better by making adjustments.

A question to everyone. If Floyd and Sven ottke were in around the same weight, would Floyd ever contemplate going to Germany to fight Sven Ottke? if Floyd got robed in Germany no one would hold it against him, a zero on your record isnt all its cracked up to be, Floyds zero certainly wont be as well when he does retire for real this time.

Except for the guy who will give him the biggest pay day of his life. And he calls himself money and the greatest boxer ever lol. Oh yeah, last time I checked the greatest fights the best out there. Hmm was that Robinson or Ali? Oh it's Floyd according to his fans hehe! Coz he challenges himself fighting left overs, has beens and low risk fighters who can give him easy cash and milk some more easy fights from these gullible Floyd fans who is being played every time, after all, these fighters won't give him Parkinson and we all know he is so concerned with his health and preservation he has to play safe hehe! Great man alright

Maybe ping-pong, Tennis or Chess are the games Floyd should play. Those are safe and fun games Floyd. That won't hurt you. Don't worry ain't for girls only hehe!

That's true but the difference is when you call yourself the greatest you should walk the walk and fight the best. Challenging yourself to prove you are the best. That is the big difference. If you bark about you are the greatest then you should act like one. And prove it. Fight the other best. the next best until people will harp you are truly the greatest.

"ali gave the fans what they wanted and look what happened, he fought the fights the fans wanted, and look what happened, uhh uhh not for me, i dont wanna get beat up, so i'll continue to avoid anyone legit and fight has-beens"

            -money may

Ali, Robinson challenged themselves to earn that title.. They walked the walk.

And that is the big difference.

            • Most fighters fight for money first and foremost and hope they can make the money before they get hurt somewhere down the line. But there must come a stage where you have enough money to last you 5 lifetimes and then if you love the sport you will seal the deal on your legacy on the sport.

When its over its over and no turnin back.

                Hahahahahahahaha ....

Why is Pacquiao the "one" obstacle for Floyd?

Because a bunch of writers have said so much?

                Let's get one thing straight:

Pacquiao does not hold any make or break value towards Mayweather's legacy.

Everything Pacquiao has done after fighting Diaz to position himself towards being Floyd's foil has been weak and hollow.

PACQUIAO WAITED ON SIX DIFFERENT OCCASIONS FOR SIX DIFFERENT FIGHTERS TO LOSE BEFORE HE WOULD FACE THEM.

There is no disputing this ... no matter how many silly rants peasants go off on.

In order to hold any make or break value to the best fighter in the world, Pacquiao would have had to have fought the #1's & #2's in and around WW. Pacquiao would have had to have consistently won championships instead of collecting vacant titles. Pacquiao would have had to have built his legacy at WW upon skill and ability rather than weight stipulations.

And if all that were not already enough, the myth of the Manny "The Giant Killer" Pacquiao was dispelled in November against Juan Manuel Marquez. As much as *******s wish to support their man, his public perception of having what it takes to defeat Floyd was shattered.

We all know who really won the Pacquiao/JMM III match. The world knows. Freddie Roach goes bananas every time a fan approaches him to express the robbery.

In the end, JMM hurt Pacquiao alot more than Pacquiao hurt JMM. Because of Bob Arum, Pacquiao got the nod in 2 out of their 3 fights. However because of his ability and determination, JMM managed to expose Pacquiao to the world as limited, having little defense and having no answer for a skilled counter puncher.

JMM is all of those things. Floyd Mayweather are those things times ten. JMM openly admits this. In fact, if you really want to know what made the difference, from the first two fights and the third, it was JMM using Floyd's strategy.

JMM once said something like "Its very difficult to beat Mayweather because he doesn't fight. He let's you fight and counterpunches with great accuracy. He never let's you control the pace, so its hard to pressure him or force him to make mistakes."

That was after Mayweather thoroughly outboxed JMM. Obviously, JMM took a page out of Mayweather's playbook and used his rudimentary approach against Pacquiao and looked beautiful doing it.

Of course, peasants flocked to say "Look at the punch stats. JMM threw and landed much more in the first two fights".

Of course he did. JMM was trying to slug it out with Pacquiao in the first two matches. This time, he actually boxed and fought intelligently. He preferred quality over quantity this time .. JUST LIKE FLOYD. And the world saw what happens when an elite boxer finally fights intelligently. Regardless of the robbery, the world holds JMM in high regard as the real #2P4P fighter in the world .. and he rightfully deserves it.

So cluck on about Pacquiao's plaques and paper awards, peasants. Write more about what writers have said about him. Tell the forum about how he was selected for certain distinctions because while he is exciting to watch and fun to support he'll never be elite, and he'll always live in the shadow of his loss to a 37 year old LW that Bobfather Arum paid to save his asss from.

No one who isn't a pacfan believes that Pacquiao holds such worth anymore. Some may believe that he's still a great fighter, but no one other than countrymen and peasants believe that Manny Pacquiao is being ducked by ANYONE.

In the days of yore, fighters got paid more for fighting good opponents. In todays world of "athletes as entertainers" people pay the same they paid for SRL/Herans or SRKL/HAgler as they do for Manny/Clottey or Floyd/Ortiz.

Oh yeah you are right, no wonder they are calling it The super fight that must be made. The must see super fight that will break all ppv records, The reason they think so is because people think it's irrelevant and it's no big deal that this 2 ever meet. No wonder they are calling it the fight that will break all records. Hmm.. makes sense. They are the 2 best fighter p4p in the same division, happens rarely, and they don't meet. Yup irrelevant. Not an important fight that's why there are so much money being predicted to be made in this fight. You make so much sense. Good job!

                      yah fair point.

Regarding Cotto, Floyd even at 35 is still a lot faster than Cotto so I really can't say Cotto can win unless he gets a lucky punch in. So one of us will be right. Cheers!
I think you do Cotto a disservice, he's a better boxer than given credit for by some. Looking forward to the fight.
