and the reason people will always bring up the peden clip is because it was 1 of the biggest bonehead moves not just in boxing but in all of sports of all time. Campbell could become p4p #1 and he still will never be able to live that peden fight down.[/QUOTE]

I know that, and so does Nate. But some of the lesser mentally gifted posters look at that clip as some sort of measuring stick of Nates career achievements. Its just one stupid thing he did 5 years ago. Nothing more, nothing less.

And of course I cant be 100% objective, but I do know boxing. There is only ONE way to beat Floyd. You have to make it a dogfight. You cant outbox him, or out jab him, you have to make it nasty. And who else from 140-147 can make a nasty inside fight better than Nate? Be honest.....
It wont matter if Campbell who is a career lightweight fights as a blown up welterweight and has to chase Floyd for an hour while he potshots.

I dont think Floyd can ever hurt Campbell, but i dont think Campbell could ever catch Floyd either.

that would have been an option. though he'd probably have fought marquez instead. since it was a bigger money fight or even juan diaz.

      people loved pacquiao vs. mexico.

delahoya screwed over a lot of people at 135 by taking on pacquiao.

including his own fighters marquez and diaz who could have made good paydays.

Credit to Nate for what he's achieved. He's clearly a world class boxer. However he has only had one fight above lightweight (and that ended quickly and without resolution) so it's reasonable for people to be unhappy with the matchup.

Funeka wasn't a nobody, but at the same time, hardly anyone on here had seen him fight, so it's not surprising that he wasn't rated that highly. Funeka dominating Guzman makes Nate's earlier victory look a lot better. That's just the way it goes sometimes.

I personally would pick Clottey to beat Campbell. So would most people on here, I'd imagine. So I think that he's a better opponent for a WW fight. Besides, Pac-Clottey has gotten a lot of criticism too.

I think Cintron would be the hardest puncher Floyd has ever faced and he's also the 2nd biggest guy Floyd has ever faced. I see that as a good fight, given the alternatives. Following the JMM fight, a lot of us don't want to see Floyd fight yet another smaller opponent who is has zero wins at either WW or JWW.

It seems as if you think that people have something personal against Nate Campbell. Maybe there are some people like that on here, but the vast majority of criticism for this matchup is not motivated by a dislike for Nate.

I'm glad if Nate finally gets a sweet payday out of this. Other than that it's hard to find any upside here. But Nate is truly in a "no lose" situation.

LOL Like Bradley ever knocks ANYBODY out, especially someone like Nate, who has been on the floor only once in his career and it took a free shot to do that.

The hyprocacy sometimes just cracks me up. A weight drained Nate, probably at 50%, beat Funeka, but here it gets spun as "Nate struggled with a nobody even with a weight advantage". Funeka then smashes everyone's hero Guzman, and now Funeka is Godzilla around here. But he was a bum and a nobody when Nate fought him.

Anyways, so IF this fight were to somehow get made, and IF Nate were to win it, whats the excuse?

            1. Floyd didnt get "up" for the fight
            2. Floyd was distracted by the Pac lawsuit
            3. The internet forum posters, most of who dont support the sport by buying ppv anyways, but instead make 1834 threads looking for free streams dont like him anymore
            4. Floyd was overrated
            5. (insert new excuse here)

And on a side note to those who can objectively debate an issue, who (realistically) between 140 and 147 would make a better fight then Nate right now? I said "realistically". That means you take shane, berto, top rank fighters, and showtime fighters out of the equation. I think that leaves Nate, Paulie, and maybe Cintron or Quintana (neither of whom are at 147)

And if you can justify Pac vs Clottey (Ben Tackie 2.0), then you can justify this matchup.
nate is an easy fight for Floyd. Guzman looked terrible, soft and slow against Funeka.

Nate can't hurt Floyd as he's to old, to slow to do anything. Bradley made Nate look slow, Floyd is quicker than Bradley.

maybe if oscar didn't come looking for a fight.

diaz was already planned to be his next fight. that's why they put david on the marquez-pacquiao 2 undercard.

remember nate barely beat juan diaz a couple of weeks before the pac-jmm fight.

maybe if pac stayed at 135 longer.

doubt it. juan manuel marquez and juan diaz (even though he lost to nate) and even joel casamayor was more money.

i know nate ****ed up on that peden fight, but he became a unified champ after that at 135. if its any consolation, i still think highly of him because of it. not that he gives a **** what i think.

                  I don't doubt it.

Oscar is a greedy bastard who was looking to recapture some of the Mexican audience by beating the man who beat the Mexican legends. It's no secret that Mexicans had disowned him at the time.

The whole reason they put Pac against David Diaz was to set up a unification bout with Juan Diaz. But Campbell and delahoya screwed everything up.

Hope to god this fight does not happen, anyway Mayweather with one arm tied behind his back, and one eye blindfolded would still be to much for Nate.
