Default I felt Fury took Wilder’s power better in this fight.

I watched the whole thing and I felt there were several right hands from Wilder that connected pretty solidly on Fury’s face/head. Fury never went down or even stumbled. And let’s not forget, he was getting hit by Deontay Freaking Wilder here, not some B-level Silver Belt Euro Champ.

Am I the only one who was impressed with how Fury handled the few power shots Wilder threw?

Does anyone else think that Fury took them surprisingly well?

Wilder has landed many decent shots on the likes of Szpilka, Duhaupas, Molina and others, who took them well BEFORE he landed the ko shots.

Point being, wilder "usually" needs to line you up perfect and hit you full extension or catch you on the blindside rushing in.

Fury controlled the distance, kept wilder off balance and not in position to get full extension.

Wilder has been blueprinted now, not saying they will have as easy a time of it but other fighters will now know how to negate that right hand, and sadly for wilder he gas very little else

Fury took Wilder's best right hands and ate them like they were nothing. Fury is a legit beast.

In fact, i think after Wilder landed those rights and saw how Fury didn't budge, that mentally broke him.

He ate some rights in the first fight too and didn't go down. Not all the rights are created equal, there are a lot of factors that have to come together to create a knock down.

Yep, good post. I think Fury was moving away from most of them too, something they worked on in camp I believe. It was one of the big adjustments I think Fury needed to make from the first fight and he did.

Trying to slip Wilders right is effective in small doses but dangerous if done repeatedly, in this fight he slipped a few, but also used his feet to back out of range

It was all to do with distance. The few straight rights that Wilder landed Fury was moving away from when he took them. Additionally, the two knockdowns that Wilder got in the first fight landed because Wilder started punching down, as he realised that Fury's response to his jab (the harbinger of the right hand) was to duck down anticipating the right straight. This time Fury never ducked down and Wilder was left punching up at the target. It's basically impossible to hit as hard punching up vs punching down. And there's also the fact that Fury is just a huge guy with a rock solid chin.

I felt like Fury`s moving and excavating was better in first fight, but this time he went straight through everything Wilder had and beat him down.

Wilder is the most dangerous when opponent waits on distance and Wilder has a time to prepare a huge right hand shot. Fury gave him no chance this time.

Its 100% you thinking fury took the shots. uhh like wilder landed 2 right hands in the whole fight and fury rolled with them because those shots werent fully connecting. so no, fury didnt take anything better
