He was a really good fighter, he had certain limitations but what he did he did first rate. He is kind of one of those guys that speaks to how far a guy can go by limiting their weaknesses and playing to their strengths.

The other thing when a guys main weapon is a jab and not something really devastating that will always make a guy less memorable because there will be fights dominated by the jab but never that one great jab that turned a fight around. Straights, lefts or right hooks, uppercuts all create lasting memories that the jab just does not.

as great as a fighter winky was, he and his team were bad businessmen. he priced himself out of the rematch with taylor, and shaw fvkked winky over the de la hoya fight as well. can't remember but i think he was offered 4-5M for de la hoya after the trinidad fight, shaws greedy ass didn't like the offer and was asking for 10M lol

im pissed winky took the quillin fight! if he didn't he would be in the hof right now! was winkys style the most appealing or exciting no! but,he was a master techinican. im actually surprised more fighters today don't use winkys style but then again, this generation of fighters don't like to use a jab for nothing

Winky jab was awesome, great defense with that tight guard, his arms were too long, a really strong fighter but lacking the power, that shows how strength got nothing to do whit power.
