Anyone catch Bellator 96? Thoughts on War Machine?

i ended up watching a couple fights of this card before the start and in between the intermissions of the blackhawks/bruins game. i was able to catch war machine's (johnathan koppenhaver) return fight against blas avena. he made pretty easy work of him, but looking at his record, only 4 losses (none by KO) out of 17 bouts, it's not bad at all (especially in mma). this is my first time hearing about this guy, too.
as a causal fan of mma (i really only watch ufc cards every other month and keep up with only a handful of fighters), how good is war machine? and is he capable of being a top contender/titleholder in this bellator organization? i'm about to look up some of his recent fights, but reading up on his bio on wiki and watching this interview with ariel helwani, he seems like a real loose cannon. let's see if this guy can keep it together to make something out of his career.



also, i'm sure allthebestfights[dot]com or fightvideomma[dot]com have videos of all the fights that happened tonight. king mo scored a vicious KO.

War Machine is decent. I don't think he will ever win a title though. He's tough and has some power but Askren will wrestle f***ck him to death. As long as Askren is around his will never stand a chance. A fight vs the loser of Lima vs Saunders would be a great test tho.

Sad seeing Babalu retire even though he's a human highlight reel KO victim. I was hoping he'd pull it out since his opponent called him a "blown up middleweight" and hardly a legend. And it was a bad way to go up, I didn't like the stoppage.

King Mo did was he was suppose to do but he needs to be more consistent at it. The only 2 people standing in his way from Bellator gold is Rampage and himself.

i'll have to check out askren cause i've never really heard about him. yeah, babalu was getting messed up in that last round. i had no problem with that stoppage. i've never really paid attention to bellator. i have watched a couple fights skipping through channels and seeing them on mtv2, but i never really invested time to sitting down and watching their cards live or seeing the fighters they have in their organization. i enjoyed their card tonight. lots of first round tkos tonight.

Damn I forgot about this & wanted to see The new emporer; Vitaly Minakov. He looks an absolute beast. His takedowns & ground game is just ridiculous.

I believe hes now working with a boxing coach too. I can certainly see where the Fedor comparisons are coming from.

Noe looked 15-20lbs heavier than Babalu, but was getting his ass handed to him. King Mo got an impressive KO and I think he'll stop Noe as well.

I can't wait to see Martinez/Minakov, someone's definitely getting put to sleep.

As for War Machine, it's nice to see him back in the mix cuz he brings the pain.

Warmachine's first porno wasn't too bad either, although it is a bit weird downloading a porn for the guy rather than the gal Haven't had a chance to see the fight yet but he is decent from the 2 fights I saw previously.

Warmachine is a very talented fighter although I dont think he'll hold the title. Hes a top 20 possibly top 15 fighter but i dont kno about top ten although he has the tools to be a champion.

The russian dude looks good but guys please understand the HW division in MMA is pretty terrible to put it nicely. Its easy to look great against guys who shouldnt even be there. At the same time im all for every mma org to have its exciting fighters/prospects and im all for every part of the globe to have a fighter to cheer for.
