The other guy, Mendez literally mopped the floor with him most of the time and it seemed like he can take McGregor down almost always when he feels so. And after that he took a few punch on the end of the round and got KO-d. I thought that a pro fighter can easily pull out that 20 remaining seconds just based on routine but this guy didn't move nowhere just planted his foots, and got KO-d while he had the round in bag and he literally should have just circle a little before the round ends.
I was like
PS: I really don't hating or anything, I have respect for the UFC too, I'm just curious that it's a usual thing in this sport that a guy comes back and wins by KO-s like this after gets dominated by the other? I see it jut rarely in boxing, fighters usually know how to keep their position imo, especially when they have to pull out just a few seconds to win the round.

I think it would be a harder fight than Aldo actually who loves to stand up.
I actually believe Aldo is probably his hardest matchup in the FW division.
This is because Aldo isn't dwarfed in skill on the feet. Everyone else in the FW division doesn't match up skill-wise on the feet to Conor. Aldo does.
Different ways of approaching the stand up. As Aldo is more muay thai oriented/ stanced. However, I think his kicks, power, and toughness would actually cause problems for Conor.
If I learned anything from Mendes-Conor, it isn't that Conor's TDD is bad. It's actually really good. He can't wrestle or sweep for sheit (I don't see how he has a bb in bjj) but he's hard to take down.
It would be that Conor doesn't absorb damage well. He doesn't panic at all but he looked visibly shaken when Chad was hitting him with heavy shots and he didn't look anywhere near as sharp when fighting Chad as he did Siver etc.
If the Aldo that ran through the WEC shows up, I think Conor has a very tough fight on his hands. The over-confident Brazilian that fought Chad shows up? I think Conor homes-in on his face easily and probably puts Aldo away.

I think his sloppyness against Mendes was a bit due to the weight, Conor looked visibly smaller than he did in his last few fights, Sonnen said he cut from 174 to 145 in 8 days, gotta take a toll on you. Conor absolutely has a granite chin, some of the elbows on the ground he took and the overhands from Mendes.
I cannot wait for Aldo-Mcgregor I'd put my money on Conor but I was a bit worried about his control of range against Mendes he's usually better than that. Against Edgar I'd take a backseat.
