Initial reports indicate there are multiple US casualties after an attack on a joint US-Afghanistan operation in the Nangarhar province in eastern Afghanistan on Saturday, one defense official told CNN.

Why do civilized people give a damn about the middle east? Just look at the history, all they have ever done is battle/fight with somebody.

Today here in the USA..

Duke vs North Carolina
The Millrose Games
Two XFL games
Big UFC fight
Lakers vs Warriors

What do they have going on over there, yep....not a damn thing.

Build a big wall around the middle east, only thing coming out.....oil, while nothing is going in.

Leave those freaks alone.

You can't go three pages in the Quran and not read about some form of violence.

be different if they were defending their own shores

It's always sad hearing people lose their lives while carrying out their duties, worse still if it's done while carrying out orders that a lot of people feel are unnecessary.

I don't really have an opinion on this, i'm more of a global citizen type and I hate the thought of people suffering when help can be offered, but i'd hate to be a parent and constantly read how we shouldn't be somewhere and my kid has just died while serving there.

You've had NFL games for 100 years, the last civil war America saw was only 160 years or so ago. Human beings have been roaming this place for like 200k+ years, perhaps look further than a tiny fraction of human history before writing off billions of people. Let us not also forget the history in which your fine country was founded on, nothing but bloodshed and slavery.

It's quite clear you've never been to the middle east, Syria as an example only won it's independence from the French in the 30s and it was a beautiful country prior to it's utter destruction. Damascus is literally the oldest living city in the entire world. You can have no idea what Syria or Afghanistan will look like in even 20 years, let alone 200 more.

Could you imagine if anyone, at any point in history listened and actually acted on something like this? Places like USA and UK would never even have existed.

I appreciate trying to open the mind of somebody who posted a comment like this is probably impossible but this is one of the more ridiculous things i've read in a while on BS.

Sometimes you have to go to there to protect over here. It's not as straightforward as you portray.

As I understand it they were assisting Afghani troops who went rogue, an "insider" attack if you will.

I read these were special forces, America's finest.

The obvious point was what do those people really have going on over there to occupy their minds? The answer......not much.

Now, why is that? California alone has more colleges than all the middle east combined, why is that?

What do they actually do over there? Who are their famous authors, music atists, athletes, who can name 10 famous middle easterners not associated with violence?

I just left a board that talks track and field, give me a great track and field athlete from the middle east?

What do they talk about?

Afghanistan was filled with al-Qeada terrorist training camps, 120 in total. They refused to hand over Bin Laden who directed the 9/11 attacks. As I said, sometimes we have to go over there to protect over here.
