Yeah I like that song very much but they got a lot of beautiful songs like shine on you crazy diamond. Scale is that of ordinary blues but gilmour somehow play the scale differently. Very simple but awesome.

They like extending a song with effects. I thought when I was 13 that don mclean's song 8 minute song american pie was long until I started listening to rock songs of pink floyd. Led zep's black dog with bozo's drum was like 20 minutes.
