Crazy video shows an off-duty police officer in Brazil shooting two robbers to death while he held his young child in his arm.
Sergeant Rafael Souza was in a pharmacy at the Praca Castelo Branco shopping center just outside Sao Paulo with his wife and child when two men wearing hoods and armed with guns stormed inside.
According to the Independent, one of the suspected robbers pointed a gun at Souza, who quickly drew his pistol and fired. The off-duty officer was holding his child as he shot the suspected robber. His wife was seen on surveillance video taking cover in one of the aisles.
Souza, still holding his baby, briefly disappears from the camera. When he reemerges, he hands the child to his wife and goes after the second gunman.
Authorities said both suspects, identified as 22-year-old Italo Creato and 24-year-old Jefferson Alves, were dead by the time paramedics arrived.
Souza, an officer with the 9th Metropolitan Battalion in Sao Paulo, told investigators that he opened fire first because he feared the robbers who shoot after he identified himself as a cop.
The incident is currently under investigation.
