Don’t make up how people saw the fight. The only people that think he won are pro manny or anti Floyd zealots. No matter how you feel about each ma, there is no legitimate way you can feel manny won the fight.

Floyd won and his legacy is secured. Manny fighting thurman is so he can earn more money to pay his taxes and fund he and his family’s political campaigns. If manny wins he deserves credit but please stop with the Hollywood sensationalism.

Who he is is a pro boxer that needs more money so he fights on because that is the way he can earn the most.
I do not know if you Floyd fans not wanting the rematch are just trolling - because you cannot be serious.

After Pacquiao-JMM 1, Pacquiao fans looked forward to the rematch. It happens, Pacquiao wins, Marquez fans complain. 2nd rematch was planned, did Pacquiao fans complain about it, try to block it, like you guys are doing? Third fight happens, same result. Again, did Pacman fans say “no need for rematch, It was a convincing win, Pacquiao taught Marquez a boxing lesson, Pac dominated him, etc.” - No. 4th fight happens, Pacquiao gets knocked the fuk out. Guess what? Pac offers a 5th fight, it was Marquez who declined. Never did Pacquiao fans say they didn’t want a rematch - not even after 3 fights already. Not even after the 4th where Pac got put to sleep.

You guys claim it was a clear victory for Floyd, when the general feeling was the fight did not live up to the hype. Fans were not satisfied. Holyfield thought Pacquiao won. The great Nacho Beristain said Floyd fought scared in the biggest fight of his life, that he needed the judges to save him. Floyd’s Dad himself said his son was fighting scared. You ignore numerous videos showing how other countries like Spain saw the fight. You may think that Floyd won, that’s ok. But to say it wasn’t even close - you cannot be serious.

Big Dunn, you say Pacquiao is fighting Thurman just for money? If that’s the only reason, he could have done a Mayweather. Fight someone less worthy and run with the money. And with the shape Pac is in right now, he can still do several of those Floyd type fights and make a lot of money. Instead, at age 40, he chooses a young, undefeated, naturally bigger champion. When de la Hoya fought for the last time, he was 35, fought a naturally smaller man.

You will say anything to diminish Pacquiao. Why???? All Pacquiao fans want is a rematch - prove it in the ring, not have Floyd fans defend him in boxing sites like boxing scene. The greats like Ali, Robinson, Duran etc all had trilogies. Why are you Floyd fans so against it?

Who truly is the zealot? Hollywood?

Sargo come on. You are comparing a rematch of 2 active boxers, in or close to their primes, that fought to a draw with a rematch of 2 over 40 year old men where the fight wasn't close on the scorecards. Please dude at least keep things in proper context.

You are not being honest about the reasons for multiple rematches. The media scoring for Manny/Jmm 2 and 3 were vastly different from the judges with the majority having JMM winning or calling the fights draws. That is why they rematched the 4th time. The Floyd/Manny fight was not close on either the official judges cards or the media scoring at ringside.

Not living up to the pre fight hype has no bearing on the actual scoring. Fighting scared doesn't mean you lost either. Holyfield's opinion is in the minority. Uhh dude, a video from Spoon doesn't capture how a whole country felt. I can't believe you even went with that.

Manny can't just fight anyone and make money . The numbers from the Horn fight showed this. Your opinion isn't supported by any facts. This isn't 2009 dude.

Rematches are necessary when the bigger name loses, the fight is close or the judges give a bad decision. That is why, for example, Manny/Morales, Manny/Bradley and Manny/JMM had rematches and why Manny/Shane and Manny/Clottey didn't.

Calling for a Floyd to rematch Manny is equivalent to asking Manny to rematch Shane or Clottey. They don't deserve one and neither does Manny. Of course Manny fans want a rematch because he lost so widely.

How is saying Floyd beat Manny diminishing him? That is a fact. With all due respect Floyd did prove it in the ring. It seems you are forgetting that.

          • I can't believe this is still being discussed.

You know, before Floyd's comeback fight against JMM, he got injured and cancelled the fight. Even though he was in need of money and in trouble with the IRS. Even though it would give Marquez three or four more months to add weight to move up. Even though his cars were getting repossessed.

But he cancelled the fight, because he knew no one wants to hear the excuses once you step into that ring and collect the check. You win or you don't.

Look, guys fight injured every week. No one that's been a pro for over the decade is stepping in there 100%. But every one of them has to weigh the cost of fighting with whatever injury they've got versus the potential reward and decide if they want to move forward. Andre Ward fought Froch with a broken hand. David Haye fought Wladimir Klitschko with a broken toe. Both had to deal with the result.

Manny Pacquiao weighed the risk versus the reward and decided to sign his name saying he was not injured and fit to fight.

            And the lost.

Go ahead and be a troll and call me a Mayweather fan like a dumbass. I can't stand Mayweather; he's an obnoxious chump and boring to watch in the ring. But he beat Manny because he was better than Manny; he was better than Manny and would have beat Manny every step of the way. If Pacquiao hadn't let Bob Arum bleed him dry fighting fights the fans didn't want to see, we'd have seen that almost a decade sooner, but it is what it is.

Mayweather won, Pacquiao lost and Floyd's retired. Deal with it.

Bad analogy.. JMM was a midget in the light weight going up 2 weight classes to meet Floyd at a catch weight. Which Floyd didn't honor. If you know muscle growth. You can look heavy with water retention, but muscles takes a year to develop. That's why even if Marquez gained weight he was a bloated azz welter weight. Best Part is Floyd again cheated in the scales to gain advantage. That's not how to win fights. Fair game is what it's all about.

Have you forgotten who was sticking needles in his house? Who got an unprecedented TUE 2 weeks after the fight? Paid USADA 6 times the normal rate. And you only see Pac should suck it up for being injured? Dude, if you really are not biased. Floyd's win wasn't supported with fight rewind. The reason there is clamor for a rematch is that eventhough Pac was a one armed man that night. Pac still landed, connected more shots that night. Not to mention the cleaner more effective shots as well. A win is only deserving if it's clear., but if you are honest to yourself. There so many intangibles that say this fight was a dud. This fight was so bad, Floyd had to apologize for his lame performance.

Anyway, I leave you with Nacho Berenstein's reflection of the fight. And how Even Floyd had to apologize for his sorry display of boxing. If you really are a boxing fan. You'll realize no one deserved a win that night. That fight was a thesis of what not to do in a super fight.

              Nacho about Floyd:

The kid caved. Over defensive on the most important fight of his life.

"He knew he was supported by the judges to give a luck luster fight."

"He (floyd) lost so much credibility"

"the only one throwing punches was Pacquiao"

"how can they gave the rounds to a guy who even looks ridiculous running away scared?"

"or giving hugs to turn off the fight?"

Here's the Asian guy with one effective arm connected more than the guy who was bigger than him and had to load up on IVs as he paid off USADA 6 times the normal rate. This also debunks fake compubox numbers and how easily Vegas can manipulate who connected that night. If you want to be real all you need is to see this video and tell me with a straight face that there is no argument for Pac winning it or even a draw for a rematch to be made. The fact Floyd doesn't want a rematch should tell you who's acting spooked, the guy is called MONEY for crying out loud. That said, Floyd not wanting anything to do with Pac speaks volumes. It shows getting away with a fluke win is better than getting exposed in a rematch. I rest my case.

Marquez knew that Manny was dominating him when he got his lucky shot in and I guess he felt it is best to leave it at that, instead of risking a devastating loss to his rival.

Mayweather is considered the best fighter of his generation because of his undefeated record and it is quite anticlimactic that Manny fought him injured as we didn't get to see both fighters at their best.

Usually the best fighters of a generation fought each other more than once, just like Leonard, Hearns, Duran did in the welterweight division decades ago, to settle who really is the best.

Aside from Pacquaio, Mayweather could have fought Thurman before he retired. Unfortunately he would rather keep his undefeated record so he retired instead. Instead we see his greatest rival in his 40's taking on the young champions of today including Thurman.

If Manny continues to win against the young welterweight champions of today even in his 40's, I think most pundits would start elevating Pacquaio above Mayweather whether or not not they ever fight again.
I love both fighters, but that wasn't a lucky shot bro. Watch the first three fights. Pacquiao would do the same thing all the time and Marquez had no answer. Pacquiao would feint and then throw a combination. But Marquez never figured this out. He would always go into a shell. But that punch he nailed in their fourth fight was studied and practiced. Granted it took him 42 rounds to nail that punch, but it was far from a lucky punch.

I just showed you how Floyd cheated and you tell me that's fine.
