    ...why do fight fans bring up amateur/olamepic/sparring shlt when discussing pro level fights ?!?!?

                  I agree with you though. It's not like most of the ones that turn pro are gonna fight other guys from the same amateur time. For every one am that turns pro there is probably a hundred that don't. Thats why there are very few people that can be named that fought each other both pro and am. Most of Ortiz or Lomanchenkos amateur victims will be fighting in an auditorium on Friday night for $500 in front of 50 people so using them as the yardstick to your greatness doesn't count for much in reality.
