Till really should consider moving up before he actually kills himself.
This, and the lack of weight classes.

But there's plenty of examples of extreme weight-cutting in boxing too..

UFC just has a bigger overall spotlight on it for more fighters/fights.

    But in boxing you got 154, 160, 168, 175. UFC/MMA it's 155, 170, 185..

I don't like Till, every second word that comes out of his mouth is an obscenity and he is one of the few people that are proud to cut so much weight and beat up on smaller men.

He also talks himself up as the next coming of Jesus (pbuh) and winning titles in 3 weight classes, and while he is a very good fighter at WW, he isn't the clear best at that weight, let alone MW and LHW. Seeing him in the low 170s for his cut makes me want to throw up, it looks disgusting how a man can cut so much weight and look like Skeletor (pbuh)

Because there are less weight classes, and thus more pounds between weight classes. So you have more pounds to lose to make a lower weight class.

I will say this, a lot of guys with wrestling backgrounds are actually pretty good at cutting weight, as they did it in high school and college.

Then these wrestlers need to teach other guys how to properly and safely cut weight.

The problem is they start thinking they can cut too much weight. That, and it's harder as they get older.

There's no real safe way to do it. You may not always collapse, but it's all unsafe to some degree.

The human body wasn't designed to shed massive amounts of water weight in a short period of time.

No, it certainly wasn't and some nurses I know say trying to drop more than 10 pounds quickly is really dangerous for health. Once they make the weight classes about 10 pounds apart, this might become less common, not sure though, since boxers do it too.

There should probably be some rule about not dropping more than 10 pounds in 24 hours and have the fighters get weighed a day before their weigh in to enforce it.

                That's one good solution.

Another is having same day weigh-ins.

When I was involved in MMA (and it was in smaller shows, not the UFC), most did weigh-ins the morning of the fight.
