As the below link shows, after your racist ancestors didn't keep their promises and took advantage of Puerto Ricans, why would they be in a hurry to run and kiss those racist a$$es?

So your dirty ancestors used them to fight off the Spanish and then just rolled in a took and did what y'all wanted with it and then when y'all needed help in the Tropics gave them citizenship and made them turn security guards for the Panama Canal.
Now you have the nerve to ask why they didn't run to y'all with open arms.
      LEARN. It's not hard!

They got tricked by the banks. Remember they look to these bank workers for advice on sound investment.

You're talking nonsense, referencing the early 1900's as if it has any barring on what is happening today. Your own link shows that Puerto Rican's became citizens by 1917 and by 1950's Puerto Rico could've easily pushed for citizenship like Hawaii, but they didn't want to. They were content ruling their island under the umbrella of American protection and aide. Just more excuses

Red: Tricked by the banks? The banks hold 70 billion of Puerto Rico's debt that will probably never be repaid! That's like you lending your friend $100 bucks and him telling you he won't pay it back because you tricked him into borrowing it.

Said like the true descendant of oppressors.
When you dirty ancestors used their land and drove them into poverty and stifled their development, you expected them to just brush it off and become strong and independent.

I would tell you to learn here again but you will never be able to understand that.

The last set of bondholders were tricked not Puerto Rican government. Puerto Rico issued the bond. So why post that silly analogy.

****! When you gonna learn something, instead of fronting like you know.

almost $900 million that didn't go to Puerto Ricans or even to keep the government afloat but went to pay back loans, pay fees or eliminate other risk of banks directly involved in putting the deal together. Barclays, which led the bond deal, got almost half a billion dollars; Banco Santander, 100 million; JPMorgan, 74 million; Morgan Stanley, 24 million; and others.

It's always someone else's fault when socialism inevitably fails.

Each time I educate the ignorant like you on here, I get no remuneration or thanks. That's why I don't bother anymore but sometimes it has to be done.

President Trump pointed out Puerto Rico's "massive debt" problems on Monday. Puerto Rico, Trump tweeted, owes "billions of dollars" to "Wall Street and the banks, which, sadly, must be dealt with."

In reality, most of that money is owed to everyday investors. Less than 25% of Puerto Rican debt is held by hedge funds, according to estimates by Cate Long, founder of research firm Puerto Rico Clearinghouse.

The rest of the debt is owned by individuals and mutual funds that are held by mom-and-pop investors.

You're not educating your peddling excuses, because that is what you are good at. Remember, 21 billion dollars a year Puerto Rico gets from USA. Where does that money go.

or when all else fails in their argument: it wasn't real socialism/real communism anyway.

Well, don't you know me quite well! That's exactly the argument I've used in the past; dictators who use communism as an excuse to enrich themselves do not represent true communism. And, heck, forget just communism! I'm into anarchy with communism.

But that Venezuela joke was funny! It was a nice mix of how 1bad says I'm everyone and my DNA results. IDK if that was on purpose or a coincidence, but it's still funny!

                      Yup.

Another favorite is that it wasn't socialism that failed, the right people just weren't in charge.

Liberals used that a lot one when the USSR imploded.
