ESPN airs the playoffs so this is the date they want the fight. You can't schedule it later because ESPN can't control how many games a series goes and when the next series starts.
So if they schedule it 2 weeks later, the same night might be a Game 7 of an NBA series that they will air instead of the fight. Or, it might be Game ^ with a top tier guy like Lebron, Harden or Steph/Durant-which they will air over boxing because of the ratings and the advertiser dollars already paid.
