It is simple he still has uses for JMM, as long as Arum can use someone and he still has a relationship he will act like that.
You can set your watch by what Arum does he always plays the same game.

Has anybody every considered what. is probably much closer to the truth...that it's exactly the way he thinks. Arum is famous for speaking out candidly either pro or con. Nobody ever credits him with this.....well I do.
Marquez has at most one or two fights left. He is only jointly promoted as he also has a Mexican contract. He's extremely difficult to deal with and carps continually. So why the hell would Arum be grovelling....he may be just placating to try to avoid future problems. I don't believe that Arum has ever made a cent from a Marquez fight, even when he promoted him many years ago, he's what is called "a lost leader", he makes a good opponent for a more popular fighter.
Everybody jumps on Arum because of that now infamous quip he made about 25 years ago, when a reporter broke faith with him and mentioned an item that Arum had told him over a few drinks too many, but which was "off the record". I think it was a pretty smart instant comeback considering the potential embarrassment in front of a host of people, plus TV. The reporter was pretty sleazy......

There are so many that it's hard to completely ignore them. it was released recently that during Marvin Hagler's long association with Arum, from the start to finish of his career, they never had a signed contract, it was mutual trust and loyalty.... Where do you find people like that today.... Not on this site....
