I think it's fair to say Haymon can never produce another PPV star other than Floyd.

    That's great promotion.

    Zero

Ppv stars are rare and the less ppvs the better
you can argue top rank created the the fighters that became PPV stars, Oscar de la hoya, Floyd mayweather, Manny pacquaio.

There have been like 5 PPV stars since the early 90's (almost 30 years), Tyson, Holyfield, Oscar, Floyd & Manny. Canelo is arguably or close to become the 6th. Most promoters or managers aren't tasting PPV stardom ever let alone again.

Love or hate Arum he's been instrumental if 3 of the 5 PPV stars since PPV has been around. Granted he was only the promoter of 1 of them when they had their biggest successes, but he's the promoter with the most PPV buys behind him.

I do know he has made Thurman the second biggest star in America. Besides Canelo what other fighter has these types of numbers in America?

There's still AJ. He's a big PPV draw in the UK.

True but we're talking 'Murica here. If AJ fought anybody on PPV in America it wouldn't do much. Even Hearn knows that and that's why he's telling Wilder to up his profile before the AJ fight.

NOBODY will come close to Mayweather numbers so to try and build another PPV Superstar in Boxing after that is going to be difficult! Even Arum as stubborn as he is now doing events on TV after losing money on PPV's nobody bought like the Crawford vs Postol fight!

I would say Haymon is AHEAD of the other Promoters as far as going into the future/next ERA. He don't have to build just 1 SUPERSTAR he can build up multiple in multiple divisions and you don't have to pay a dime to see them! That is the future not PPV! UFC will continue to do solid PPV Numbers because the UFC is 1 Brand with all of the best MMA fighters and they can give the fans 1 vs 2 Match ups consistently. Boxing is too many belts, too much politics, too much promoters which makes it impossible to give the fans what the want when they want it! To not give the fans what they want when the wanted it when they're so use to having things at the tip of their finger, that is going to be difficult for boxing and that is why Boxing does AWFUL with the young Demographic!

Only Anthony Joshua has the POTENTIAL to do big PPV Numbers in Boxing CONSISTENTLY! So that puts Eddie Hearn>ALL as far as Promoters because he has that Next Big Superstar in a Division that Casuals have always loved the most through out History which is the Heavyweight Division! AJ haven't even debut here in States but once he does I think he will be BIG here bigger than any of the current fighters.

AJ vs Wilder IS the next mega fight in boxing IF both keep winning! So while we're waiting for Arum and De La Hoya to build up that next True Cross Over Superstar, Eddie Hearn has already done It!

I don't know if they'll be another Floyd Mayweather. He has the top 4 ppv events of all time by a huge margin.

I wondered the same thing. Haymon seems to get a lot of negative attention around here considering he hardly ever makes a pubic statement or appearance...

Mayweather not losing to a young lion like Thurman or Spence also hurts any transition. Imagine De La Hoya calling it quits after the Mayorga fight, Mayweather and Pacquiao would've had their PPV numbers cut in half (they would've still been excellent top earners but it'd be 400-600K buys for a Ricky Hatton fight instead of 800-1.2M).

It takes a perfect storm to create a PPV superstar, which explains why RJJ, B-Hop, Mosley, JMM, and others stardom never translated to massive PPV success despite
