  • Francis Ngannou or George Foreman, who hits harder?

Foreman was one of, if not THE hardest punching fighter of all time. But does Ngannou hit harder than him?

Very hard to tell, but I would say Foreman. Can you imagine George hit someone with those small 4 ounce gloves?

Yeah, it would be like when Ray Mercer landed that one punch on Tim Sylvia and knocked him out.

A good way to find out too might be to have both guys punch you in the face with their respective gloves or have them use the 4 ounce gloves.

How are you gonna compare MMA fighter's punching power with that of a boxer. Wasn't McGregor vs Mayweather enough proof for you that punching power in MMA and boxing are levels apart. If Nganu punched that hard he would've stayed in boxing, there is way more money for him there.

Apparently Conor Mcgregor was pound for pound one of UFC's hardest hitting punchers! (In the whole greater scheme of things, when he transitioned into a sport where athletes solely train to punch? A 40 year old Floyd Mayweather stated that he was a light puncher, even though Mcgregor had a weight advantage of 15-20 pounds over Floyd Mayweather!

A 40+ Year old Ray Mercer probably hit harder than Francis Ngannou with Mix Martial Arts gloves on!

MMA fighters punch like crap due to 3 reasons

            1) they don't train punching as much as the boxers do (the obvious one)

            2) the stance is different when you need to defend kicks, you can't really plant your feet like you do in boxing and you can't balance yourself properly ergo MMA fighters lose power in most of their punches except overhands

            3) MMA fighters don't wear boxing shoes and have less traction

They do have one thing going for them and that's the 4 oz gloves. But that's also an indication that they don't punch hard. If elite boxers got to wear 4 oz gloves their hands would get DESTROYED if they had so little protection. Most boxers have hand problems already, it would be even much worse with 4oz.

Exactly, McGregor's punches had zero effect even in 8 ounce gloves.
