It's - in modern history - extremely rare for a "champion" to have 4 champion opponents in their entire career...one of those "champs" is a WELTERWEIGHT.

Do you think Jacobs could fight at 155 pounds? I thinK it would kill him. Don't think Golovkin can do it dispite what he said in the past. Monson at 155?? No..Hagler fought Duran at below 160 but he's smaller than Golovkin and Duran is smaller than Canelo. Hagler managed to make 1571/2 but he didn't look sharp. Duran had a lot to do with it but Hagler looked off to me at least. So no a middleweight shouldn't be expected to fight at any weight under the limit.
If you Cotto was a true MW since he technically fought at MW 3 times (159, 157, and 155) than his requests of CW at MW are as acceptable as fighting at the MW limit of 160...since MW is 155-160.
So why did GennadyCUCK duck Canelo and Cotto CW offers? Why did he DUCK Brooks offer of 157?
Why did GennadyCUCK not offer CW for Rosado or Vanes?
Yet GennadyCUCK required CW for Ward???
Hello? Help me out here CUCK

Ducked fights with Cotto and Canelo at catchweights, ducked Dervenchenko, ducked Andrade, ducked chance at greatness in the Ward fight, ducked 157lb CW with Brook...
In his biggest fights to date - Jacobs and Canelo - a case could be made he won and lost both. They were that close.
I had GGG beating Jacobs narrowly 114-113, but wouldn't be upset if Jacob got the nod. However, I had Canelo beating Gennady 115-113.
The dude is far from great considering how ordinary Danny Jacobs looked against Arias and Sulecki...and how ordinary JMW Canelo looked against Trout, Lara, and Cotto.
Many people can't face the facts. The fact is Gennady is a hypejob who passed up opportunities to make his career into something special...but was less convincing than JMW Erislandy Lara in beating Canelo

Sorry can't help someone that doesn't want to learn. Your determined to stick to your view no matter what. If you keep pretending you don't understand how weight classes work it pointless trying to explain it.

Also to all you green fans you don't judge a fighters abilities or their legacy by their "move up". If you can maintain your weight at a certain division limit most fighters stay there.
Guys like Mayweather moved because they out grew a weight class. Do you think Mayweather makes 130lbs at 30 years old. Does he go to 135lbs as a 34 year old?
We have fans here who don't have a clue about weight classes!
Both GGG and Canelo are good competitors both they are not "great fighters", being very good is a huge accomplishment.
Imagine how difficult it would be for anyone on this forum to become a good competitor? Might be 3 people, I know young Scully is one, I know another one hahahaha..........
Ray
Your example of mayweather is patently untrue. Mayweather never moved from a single weight class because he outgrew or could no longer make the weight. He moved up for new challenges every single time. He outgrew the challenges available at each weight class. When he was a welterweight, his fight night weights were usually under 150.

Cotto paid Golovkin 850,000 dollars so he would step aside and let Cotto fight Canelo. Does that sound like a guy who was chomping at the bit to fight Golovkin. Canelos team publically stated he wasn't ready to fight Golovkin and the fight had to marinate. . When Canelo beat Cotto he called out Golovkin and then vacated later. Sounds like he wasn't interested either.
It is rare for them to move down (hopkins did a 156 fight) but when the middleweight champ says he will fight anyone in the world at 154-168, then the BEST 154 and the BEST at 168 call him out then he says ok no you two have to be at different weights, Canelo youre too good, you need to be at 160 and Ward youre too good, you need to come to 164, but I will fight a can like Chavez at 168....
well he deserves valid criticism. The fans didnt say GGG should fight anyone at 154-168, those were his own words. And he was someone having problems getting fights, so then take the risks, take the challenges.
Most greats had to take some risks or challenges to get where they were.
Ali had to face Fraizer after a long layoff. Foreman spent like 6 years working up to his comeback for the title and took an ass kicking from Holyfield. Mayweather had to buy out his arum contract and give in to all demands to A side de la hoya before he could be the star. RJJ got bored with the available options at 175 and went to heavyweight.
Meanwhile GGG camped out a 160 and complains nobody will fight him. What risks did GGG take his entire career? He was content with fighting scrubs at 160.

I know cotto was small but why pick and choose who you want to fight when the real threat was sitting there waiting for his turn? Cotto should have just said no I’m going back down and left it at that and gone back down but he didn’t! What part of that do you not understand?
Canelo got paid plenty for those 2 pounds. Ggg would have bent over for a shot at money may even ward was willng to go down and meet him. Money talks. You are just a hater that screws the story to suit your agenda. There is a reason why ggg was ducked by so many for so long. He was a super high risk and very low reward. That’s the truth of the matter real boxing fans see this blinded haters come up with excuses
Cotto holding the lineal middleweight title hostage and refusing to fight the best middleweight is a valid criticism.
However GGG is guilty of the same mentality. As you said he would go to 154 for mayweather money but not for a canelo fight. He would likewise pick and choose who he fought at 168, if they were too good (ward) he wanted them drained. Cotto is worse in that he was doing it with his title defense. But GGG cant complain about his career options when he had more options to leave the weight class and he chose to stay at 160 and fight the scrubs that would fight him.
