I'm just a couple years younger than those characters, and I'll say that movie most captures the feel, the essence, the vibe of the 80s better than any other modern movie set in the 80s that I've seen.

Fair enough. I'm no Cusack fan myself, and irl I hear he's a total jerk.

That said; and this gives away nothing because it's shown in the first 5 minutes, he plays a smug, narcissistic, selfish, impossible to live with person.

He plays himself, and that's perfect for this movie.

I highly recommend it, but you must watch the Unrated Version.
