  • Chris Eubank Sr: A Giant Among Men!

For those who are too young to remember, Eubank was a fighter who was vilified in the 90s by the British press for his stately behaviour in the ring, which was, in truth, showmanship and helped put bums in seats. He was accused of being pompous and arrogant, but he was far from it. This man is an absolute gentleman who has enough empathy to realise another fighter is in critical condition and advise his own son against doing more damage. He was misunderstood by many, but he's a man with a kind soul and was the voice of reason on Saturday. I genuinely believe if Eubank hadn't told his son to ease off with head shots Blackwell would be in worse shape. God bless Eubank, and **** the 90s editors of the Sun & Mirror newspapers.

Couldn't agree more. The media are happy to vilify at the drop of a hat yet not hail his courage for imparting such wise words to his son?!

Thank goodness for social media so that those of us who know can impart the necessary kudos.
      Great work by Eubank senior.

I agree. Eubank was in fact arrested for protesting against the British and American invasion of Iraq. Somewhat similar to how Ali was jailed for refusing conscription into the USA army against Vietnam. Both of these guys are heroes in my book.

Apart from Billy Joe being an idiot sometimes, another reason he might have done that is because Eubank always said he regretted not winning the British title. Saunders might have been waving that British title in his face to try to rile him up, and rile up Eubank Jr so that he might make mistakes in the fight or something. There might have been an element of mind-games in it, but it was probably mostly because Billy Joe can be a compulsive idiot.
