Pretty sure Commey would have a year before the mandatory is even due. Dunno how IBF can force it immediately. Also why the hell would Commey not want the undisputed fight vs loma?

IBF can force it whenever they want. Bute used to fight multiple mandatories a year when he was IBF 168 lb. champ.

They aren't breaking their rules but don't act like this happens all the time. This is rare

Commey had a floating tendon in his right hand after the the fight with Chaniev, requiring 6-8 weeks rest with only 2 and a half months before facing Loma - no way could he meet the April date with Loma.

There is no indication that Loma feels Commey is screwing around, no more than Loma is screwing around having his hand in a cast after Crolla.

That Commey wants a tune-up fight to milk what time he had as IBF champ before possibly (probably) losing it to Loma is beyond question - he says its to test out the hand, and maybe thats a good idea, but with Loma out of action until Sept earliest (based on the best estimate for Loma to recover from his own hand injury), then it doesn't really affect the timeline for Commey/Loma too much.

What affects it is if Loma goes WBC first in Sep, in which case it leaves Commey twiddling his thumbs until the earliest date he can meet Loma, which likely Dec earliest.

Teo not a factor, unless Bob can force it somehow (which I don't think he can).

Translation Arum won't ever let Teofimo beat down Loma.

Not Arum. The Universe and the very laws of physics won't let Teofimo even contend with Loma.

Vasiliy Lomachenko vs Teofimo Lopez will end up being like Yuriorkis Gamboa vs Juan Manuel Lopez. Top Rank will keep pushing it back until it is to late or we don't want to see it anymore.
