  • Does Gennady Golovkin possess the punching power required to hurt/KO Canelo Alvarez?

Can Gennady Golovkin generate the power required from using his body to hurt Canelo Alvarez, never mind KO or knock-down the sexy, iron chinned and chiselled Mexican warrior named Canelo Alvarez? Or are Golovkin's punches a little too light / weak / feather-fisted / girlish / babyish to cause anything more than a minor nuisance to Canelo Alvarez?

We all saw how Canelo Alvarez was walking right through Golovkin's most powerful punches like they were nothing. Almost to the point where he was mocking Golovkin's pathetic attempt in trying to hurt his master. Canelo Alvarez looked like those punches were only itching him at worst and couldn't laugh at how light, feather-fisted, girlish and babyish those punches were.

So does Gennady Golovkin possess the ability to generate the power required from using his weak and fragile body to hurt Canelo Alvarez? Or are his punches a little too light for him to accomplish such a seemingly impossible task?

Of coarse he does he just didn’t throw it like he usually does, he didn’t in the Jacobs fight either he respects their power. However in a second fight he would be going in knowing what to expect of canelos power and I expect him to pull the trigger with his power punch more.

I voted his punches to be heavy... he just needs to land them...

Golovkin is predictable to elite fighters. By the time he loads up Nelo can see where he's going to project. Golovkin maybe once upon time was good at traps, but even now, just too slow.

I guess Golovkin should take on acting. His mannerisms in throwing bombs at the ropes with his face showing evil intentions as usual was perhaps just 20% of his real power...

Who cares. Alts are like a needle in a hay stack. Instead, you should focus on the question. Of course Lil'G has devastating power, and since most Lil'G fabs justified a jab performance proves that Lil'Gs strategy needs to be perfected in setting up traps as Nelo dodged combinations like a BOSS!

                Actually he does.

There was a round, can't really remember. GGG landed on the top of Canelo's head, you could see it clearly hurt Canelo. He even looked at the ref to see if it was legal, then GGG did it again another round. Both times, the punch to the top of Canelo's head weakened him, it was easy to see. They were not even hard punches, just GGG trying to land something.

Imagine he realises that and decides to go for it over and over whenever they are up close, Canelo will be in for a whole lot of headaches with his brain pounding inside his head. Will be tough to continue fighting, add GGG relentless pressure and you might just get a knock down.

Hells yeah!! Nelo still hasnt broke his cherry to be like Barrera, Morales, or Marquez on the canvas with blood spewing out. Mexican style lottery ticket in which Nelo hasn't cashed in yet, them SuperSayan times will reserved for tougher fights.
