Deontay Wilder should be banned for good, says partner of tragic fighter

    13:51, 20 MAY 2019Updated13:57, 20 MAY 2019

Wilder has repeatedly said he wants "a body on his record" and has come in for fierce criticism

Deontay Wilder should be banned from the sport of boxing for his sick comments according to the partner of tragic Mike Towell.

Towell suffered bleeding on his brain after a fight with Dale Evans in 2016 and later died from his injuries.

Wilder, meanwhile, has repeatedly said he wants "a body on his record" and repeated his claim before his first-round KO of Dominic Breazeale on Saturday.

And ahead of his latest title defence, he said: "This is the only sport in the world where you can kill a man and get paid for it at the same time, so why not use my right to do so?"

But Chloe Ross, Towell's partner, believes the American should not be allowed to fight again.

"Wow I can’t believe what I've just listened to," she wrote on Twitter .

"What a horrible human being... an absolute extreme crave for publicity and he's got exactly that... he shouldn't be allowed to fight ever again, a***hole!!!"

Wilder knocked Breazeale out in under two minutes in Brooklyn and insisted he did not mean his opponent any harm.

He said: "Everything came out of me tonight. I know it's been a big build-up a lot of animosity and hatred; a lot of words were said and it came out tonight.

"This is what makes boxing so great. I told him I love him and of course I wanted him to go home to his family.

"When you settle your differences with the gloves on that’s what the sport is about."

Wilder will face a hearing with the WBC whose heavyweight belt he holds.

The organisation's president Mauricio Sulaiman said: "I have seen Deontay Wilder comments which are regrettable and completely against the spirit of our sport.

"I have known Wilder for a long time and he is not the person he portrays in such comments. His metaphors are against the WBC code of ethics and will be addressed in a hearing."

They need to cut it out seriously. I guess they were never around to witness some of the sick grueling **** Tyson used to say. I want Deontae Wilder to tell the female reporter........
" I usually dont do interviews with women, unless I fornicate with them" - Mike Tyson
"I dont know anything about numbers I just want to Kill this Mother****er" - Mike Tyson
"Im talking to you the way I want to, You disagree, Turn off your damn station" - Mike Tyson
" I said, White Boy, Im going to ****ing Kill You" - Mike Tyson

But some people feel Wilder should be banned from sport? GTFOH

if a guy like Lara or Saunders said this nobody would give a fck. . but Wilder has the means to actually kill a mofo so its scary coming from him lol. i understand the whole buildup angle but i also sympathize with this woman.

They should tell him if it happens again you will be stripped of your title. There is no place for that kind of reckless promotion in boxing.

People actually took his "threat" seriously?

                  That's hilarious!

This is not really about WHO takes it seriously though is it?

Imagine his next opponent does die in the ring. Its not unknown. The hot water he will be in then will be nothing. Realistically a case in a law court could be held against him for premeditated murder.

You simply dont say stuff like this in certain situations.
