All of those countries allow for private insurance for those citizens who choose it. Sanders would abolish that choice for Americans.

That's a fair point.

One clarification regarding Canada's private insurance situation - you can only get supplemental private insurance, for things outside of basic care covered by the government.

But yes, you do have the option to not be stuck with only the government insurance plan.

Taxes go up but by much less than you pay for health premiums, college funds, chid care etc etc. Most western countries easily afford Bernie's proposals without paying any more in tax in the lower/middle class.

These aren't new or radical ideas to most of the western world and have been shown to be viable and successful many times, unlike supply side tax cuts which have never been shown to work.

Please tell me the country that has had success with universal health care with a pop of 300 + million, and another 20 million illegals on top of it that Bernie says will also be covered.If Bernie got his way quality of care and wait times would be astronomical.

Tax money never goes to education and Healthcare for a lot of reasons. Seriously not mocking you, look into it and learn: For example, no health insurance lobby will let you touch them, they have senators and congressmen, etc... They are the reason for inflated costs. Read on health clinics that operate on a pay as you use basis... They can provide surgery, and anything else, including recovery, for a few thousand dollars sometimes.

And education? The problem with education is that kids coming up are being so dumbed down that colleges are affected. The burocracy that gives you identity politics, and no gifted or advanced academics based on ability.... the problem with college is not financial in nature...

I have progressive leanings. But if you look carefully you will find that Bernie, millionare Bernie, is not what you think he is. I gave you two vital pieces of information that a true progressive might want to look at and understand.

Independent studies have shown everyone outside the top 5% of earners will be better off under Bernie's plan. The poorest 80% by an average of almost $10k a year.
