Offensive coordinator Hue Jackson reached an agreement Monday to become the head coach of the Oakland Raiders, sources told ESPN.com.
Jackson was brought in to fix the Raiders' offense last season. With Jackson calling the plays and Jason Campbell starting at quarterback for a majority of the season, the Raiders improved to 8-8 and almost doubled Oakland's scoring totals from the previous season.
Jackson replaces Tom Cable, who was let go after the season when the team didn't pick up the final two years of his option.
Terms of the Jackson deal weren't immediately available. In the past, the Raiders signed first-time coaches to two-year contracts with two-year team options included.
