So a prime 27 year old Joyce scratched a split decision against a 20 year old Hrgović back in 2013 on his home soil in London.

Hrgović only started boxing seriously in his mid-teens. He had only like 5 years of training behind him when he faced Joyce here. When Wilder and Joshua were on the same level they were getting stopped by smaller guys with amateur boxing pillows.

Unlike Wilder and Joshua Hrgović has never been stopped as an amateur and unlike them he has had these pro-style world series of boxing fights with 5 rounds and smaller gloves.

As you can see in this fight as well, he has great chin and durability and keeps on coming even when hurt. This will show when he will be in 12 round fights, he has great cardio for such a big guy.

This is what Hrgović said about Anthony Joshua recently:

"Joshua neće ti pomoć ni što si crn, ni što imaš 115 kila, prebit ću te ko mačku"

        https://vijesti.rtl.hr/sport/ostalo/...u-te-ko-macku/

        Rough translation:

"Joshua, it won't help you that you're black and it won't help you that you have 115 kilos, I will beat the crap out of you" (the more literal translation would be "I will beat you up like [you were] a cat", it's a stupid phrase we have in the Balkans)

LOL Hrgović not afraid to mention race. I think he will cause even more butthurt than Kovalev when he gets more famous.

Lol are you dumb. In a sport where there is 17 weight divisions and 4 or 5 world champions per division.. you are happy with your race having just 2 paper champs hahaha Im laughing at your extremely low standards right now! Everyone knows arabs can't fight at all. Im not American I'm British you idiot. Theres more better fighters from Belfast alone -600,000 people.. than there is of the whole arab world of hundreds of millions of people haha. Whites have more world champions currently than any other race. And you arabs can't even ****ing compete at the top level. Lol your opinion on boxing is worthless

Filip Hrgović is a big Croatian patriot. He chose Croatian nationalist singer Thompson for his entrance song (this song). He said that he still wants to win an Olympic gold medal and will arrange his schedule in a way that could enable him to fight on the 2020 Olympics.

He also said that his big dream is to fight for the title on the Croatian soil in one of their biggest stadiums either Maksimir in Zagreb or Poljud in Split.

He recently had some falling out with his coach Leonardo Pijetraj, we'll see what this means for his future career. Supposedly they just didn't get along lately.

I'm a big fan of Hrgovic and think he will be a beast down the line, but this is ridiculous. He's only beaten Zumbano Love and a Czech bouncer, give him a couple years before throwing him to the wolves. Put him in against guys like Bacurin, Redzovic and Rekowski in his next few fights and let him develop

Hrgović said that he is ready to be fast tracked to the title because of his vast world series of boxing experience. He says that those fights were basically like pro fights so that he doesn't need to waste too much time fighting journeymen in the pros.

Hrgović said that he can beat anybody in the HW division right now already. He already said in 2015 after watching the Klitschko vs Fury fight that he could have beaten them both in the same night there and then.

Did you see what he said about Joshua last month?

Those are fighting words. Those aren't the words of a man who is going to cherry pick and pad his record and waste time with those sad corpses you listed. He's coming to get the belts as fast as possible. He already wanted the Whyte fight.

Talk is easy when you are so far away from ever facing any of these guys. He might say he's ready now but that's just ego and nothing more... the guy isn't even ranked by any governing body and thus won't be getting any kind of title shot for a few years yet, even if he doesnt intend on facing a dozen journeyman he is still going to have to face multiple contenders to get in a position for a heavyweight shot.

He might well turn out to be the real deal but if people start putting this kind of pressure on him it can end really quickly. Give the guy a year or two before you crown him.
