Joe Cortez was Mic'ed up for the people at home. Even with him having a MIC that filters out the crowd noise we still BARELY heard him say it, that means he mumbled it, he didnt say it clearly, take out your microphone and say fight in a low voice, the microphone picks it up.

Ortiz had thousands of people yelling, he didnt have luxury of having Cortez'es microphone feed.

Do you dumb fans realize that Cortez had a mic on him? Even with a Mic we only heard a whisper that lasted half a second, so if we at home barely heard it in a controlled quiet environment, how could you expect Victor Ortiz to hear a mumble when he doesn't have Mic feed, adrenaline pumping thru, and thousands of people yelling stuff? Dude was confused, he saw Floyd motion for a hug and hugged him, then got sucker punched while looking at the ref.

He never said FIGHT.

After the point deduction he made hand motions for them to come back to the middle of the ring while muttering "Let's go".

A few seconds later, after they're back in the middle, he looks to the time keepers and says "Ya'll ready?", as if he was then going to look back at the fighters and tell them to begin fighting to start the time again.

Before he even looks back at the fighters, Floyd sucker punched Ortiz.



Cortez ****ed up majorly. Why would you ask if the time keepers are ready if you already started the time? Should probably do that BEFORE you tell the fighters to re-engage. He lost control of the action in the ring, and gave mixed signals as to whether it was still time out or not. Ortiz still should be protecting himself, though. What a dumbass.
