He dominated against such competition as Bill Russell, Willis Reed, and Lew Alcindor. What a bunch of unathletic white guys.

          except kareem.

but kareem came in 1969. wilt in 1959. doesnt change anything at all. wilt still played in a era of unathletic bigs & overall unathletic inferior competition compared with other great big men.

Wilt Chamberlain more than held his own against probably the greatest center of all time, at the end of his career while Kareem was at his best and leading the Bucks to a title. Wilt was 34 the first time they matched up. He averaged 16 and 18 in their match ups against each other. He had 5 20-20 games against Kareem in the first year they played each other, again at 34 years old.

You are telling a bold-faced lie, or you are entirely ignorant to Wilt's career when you say he has no skill and would not be a great player in any era. If he can play so well against Kareem Abdul Jabbar, why would he play worse in his prime against inferior centers?

I'm done with this. You have made up your mind and have decided not to listen to any reason regarding Wilt's abilities. Have fun being clueless about one of the greatest centers ever.

skilled big men know how to shoot. wilt cant shoot. the rules the way the game is called nowadays, even with inferior centers today (not the 80s & 90s) wilt wouldnt be as great as he was during his time.

1960 nba is totally different from 1980-Present.

Anbyody who accrued their greatness & statistics before 1970 their greatness does not translate over to any era.

                  • I could see Hakeem, Shaq, and Robinson giving Russell problems to an extent, but given time, Bill would find a way to deal.He wouldn't have many problems with Alonzo, or Patrick, who despite being great shotblockers, were not the greatest rebounders.Wilt would own Ewing and Mouring, would be given some hassles by Robinson,Shaq, and Hakeem, especially Hakeem and Shaq, but he would more than hold his own.

Shaq couldn't shoot, neither can Dwight. That doesn't mean they're not great centers.

Was Wilt's stats inflated because of the era he played in ? probably but you don't have that combination of size, skill and athleticism and not be able to dominate in other eras.

I noticed you brought up Shaq as a top 5 player of all time. He dominated due to his insane size, strength and athleticism combined with excellent skills just like Wilt.

Before you bring up Wilt's competition again, tell me who Shaq went up against that was that great and could handle him defensively because i know there wasn't anyone.

But when Wilt outmatches his opponents it means they were undersized, terrible, etc.

Stop being so blind. There's no denying that Wilt and Russell are great. To think they aren't is crazy.
